Magdalena Stefanowicz is a Polish sprinter who excels in the 100m dash. She has achieved significant milestones, including winning silver medals in the 4x100m relay at both the 2021 World Athletics Relays and the 2022 Munich European Athletics Championships.
Born on April 21, 2000, Magdalena discovered her passion for athletics early on. Her sprinting talent shone brightly, leading to her first major accomplishment as a 100m silver medalist at the 2017 World Under-18 Championships.
Magdalena's competitive journey began in 2014 when she clinched the 100m gold at the Czestochowa U16 Meeting and the Czestochowa Polish Junior Club Championships. The following year, she continued to dominate locally, winning the 100m gold at the Bielsko-Biala Meeting and the Chorzow U16 Meeting, and securing the 60m bronze at the Brzeszcze Indoor Meeting.
In 2016, Magdalena earned her first national junior medal with a 200m bronze at the Spala Polish U18 Indoor Championships. Her international breakthrough came in 2017, when she won the 100m silver at the Nairobi IAAF World U18 Championships. That year, she also competed in the Polish women's 4x100m relay team at the Grosseto European U20 Championships, although they didn't progress past the heats. Magdalena also triumphed at the Warszawa Polish U18 Championships, winning gold in both the 100m and 200m, and secured the 60m gold at the Torun Polish U18 Indoor Championships.
The year 2018 saw Magdalena compete at the Tampere IAAF World U20 Championships, finishing 5th in the 100m and 4x100m relay. She also earned the 4x100m relay gold at the Vyskov CZE-HUN-POL-SLO-SVK U20 Match and won gold in the 100m and 200m at the Torun Polish U20 Indoor Championships. Additionally, she took home the 100m gold and 200m bronze at the Wloclawek Polish U20 Championships.
In 2023, Magdalena won the 4x100m relay silver at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships First Division and placed 5th in the same event at the Budapest World Athletics Championships. She also earned the 60m bronze at the Torun Polish Indoor Championships and the 100m bronze at the Cyprus International Athletics Meeting. Additionally, she won the 100m silver at the Joensuu Motonet GP and the 100m gold at the Grand Prix Nove Mesto Nad MetujÃ. Magdalena became a national champion by winning the 100m gold at the Gorzow Wielkopolski Polish Championships.
In 2024, Magdalena was part of the Polish women's 4x100m relay team that qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics at the Nassau World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas. During the 2024 season, she won the 60m and 200m bronze medals at the Torun Polish Indoor Championships, as well as gold at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting in Dortmund and silver at the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes in the 60m.
